Session
Session
Claude Code Session is functionally a conversation to the Claude Code agent. Resuming a session is the same as resuming a previous conversation.
- When you type
claudeyou are starting a new session. - Claude Code offers two types of session: Web (remote) and Local (terminal).
- A session started via Remote Control or Claude Code for Web can be continued locally via the IDE ("Past Conversations" → Local/Web tabs).
Subscription current session:
- Shows how much of your plan's five-hour usage limit you've used so far, plus the amount of time remaining in that session.
- All Claude plans — Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise — operate on session-based quotas that reset every five hours.
- Usage within a session is determined by message length, attached file size, conversation length, and platform demand.
- Claude Code has its own concept of "sessions" which you can also think of as conversations.
