MCP How It Works

1. You ask Claude something ("What's the weather in Stockholm?")
2. Claude sees the weather tools from the connected server.
3. Claude calls the right tool with the right parameters.
4. The server hits the API and returns a result.
5. Claude uses the result in its response.

What's out there:

• Hundreds of MCP servers available.
• Databases, APIs, cloud services, dev tools.
• Official reference servers: fetch, filesystem, git, memory, time.
• The MCP Registry at registry.modelcontextprotocol.io
• And some... less expected ones.
